Teams end the details to World Cup in Cali.

With the qualifying rounds in the team pursuit for men and women and speed equipment, also for both branches, the official program of the World Cup Track Cycling at the Velodrome Alcides Nieto Patiño will open this Friday.

The track, fully renovated and set-up for the big event of speed on the oval wood, this weekend becomes world center of cycling with the presence of world champions, Olympic medalists and sports leadership elite gathering of cycling of the 39 countries present.

The Cali is the third stage of the World Cup after those in Guadalajara and London, and many things at stake, because not only will compete for the overall title of the Cup, but may also get important points for the Olympics in Rio-2016 and will be the last chance of confrontation between the figures before cycling world championship that will be held next month.

In Cali World Cup program opens Olympic style testing with individual and team speed, team pursuit, keirin and omnium, thus forming the five modalities that from now will be part of the official program at all stages of World Cup.

The multidisciplinary omnium debuted in London and has since undergone several modifications to make it more attractive and competitive in the World Cups. This test meets six competencies that give points, which are added to give the medal to the competitor who accumulates the highest score. Omnium races are: Scratch, individual pursuit, elimination, kilometer time trial, flying lap and points race.

In Cali 10 gold medals will be delivered, five in the men's events and five female.

The races of individual pursuit, points race, scratch and madison not be played individually in World Cups, but continue being part of the world championships in cycling.

The big attraction of this third and final stop of the World Cup is French Francois Pervis, who in his debut in Cali in the World last year won three gold by winning speed, keirin and kilometer metals. Among the ladies will count again with the presence of the German Cristina Vogel, who for the fourth time attending the Cali velodrome, this time looking to claim their three crowns a year in speed, keirin and team speed.

Fabian Puerta, the great figure of the Colombian group, comes preceded honors obtained in London, where he won two silver medals in the keirin and individual sprint, and having won two bronzes in Guadalajara, where he was third in the same tests.

The Colombian group is formed in the female, Jannie Milena Salcedo Zambrano, Diana Maria Garcia Orrego, Juliana Gaviria Rendon, Angy Carolina Guzman Chain, Valentina Areiza Paniagua, Angie Sol Roa Bonilla and Laura Camila Lozano Ramirez among the ladies.

The male group consists Fabián Hernando Puerta Zapata, Anderson Parra Cortez, Rubén Darío Murillo Minota, Arles Antonio Castro Laverde, Juan Sebastián Molano Benavides, Jordan Parra Arley Arias, Jonathan Restrepo Valencia and Julian Felipe Suárez.

Edwin Avila and Juan Arango not be in Cali for being part of Team Colombia who run the Tour de San Luis (Argentina) from next Monday.

The competitions begin on Friday with the first day between 2 pm and 8 pm and will continue on Saturday with morning and evening sessions and also Sunday morning and afternoon.
