Colombia opened the Track World Cup in Cali with pair gold medals and took over the event.
Fabian Puerta in the kilometer and persecution team gave to Colombia gold medals.

Fabian Puerto won Kilometer in World Cup

With a velodrome full of audience and a festive environment decorated by an endless wave deliriously circled the stands of the velodrome Alcides Nieto Patiño, Cali began in the first stage of the UCI World Cup Track Cycling.

Colombia began leading the competition to get two gold medals and two bronzes. The golden were in kilometer team trial men and team pursuit men, while the bronzes came in teams pursuit and teams speed ladies.

Fabian Puerta, from Antioquia, won the gold medal in the kilometer time and him beat new national record with 1min.00seg.982cent.

Puerta exceeded record of 1.01.177 Juan Esteban Arango who had settled in the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011.

Germany in teams pursuit men, Italy in teams pursuit ladies, Britain in teams speed ladies and Australia in Scratch ladies also bathed in gold.

The program starts this friday at 11:00 with speed single ladies.

This friday will be played three finals, Omnium and keirin males and speed ladies.
