Cali receives seven world champions.

Cuba y México confirman sus nóminas.

7 world champion in 2009 will be in Alcides Nieto Patiño Velodrome, in third stage of Track World Cup UCI Cali 2009.

They are:

Maximilian Levy (Germany): is the keirin World Champion. In Cali, Levy will relive his fight with french Francois Pervis and dutsh Teun Mulder, the other riders winners of medal in World Championship of Pruzskow, Polland.

Morgan Kniesky (France): He born in Besancon, august 31th 1987, is the scratch World Champion. He beat Angel Dario Colla (Argentina) and Andreas Mueller (Austrian).

Simona Kupreckaite (Lithuania): 500 m time trial World Champion, with world record (33:588). She is a charismatic sprinter, won 3 gold medals last year in Cali, and won keirin in Track World Cup, in Manchester.

Yumari Gonzalez (Cuba): She won Scratch race in Pruzskow, beat Lizzie Armitstead (Germany) and Belinda Goss (Australia). González won same race in World Championship of Mallorca (Spain), in 2007.

Giorgia Bronzini (Italy): Points Race World Champion, with 18 points, beat Yumari Gonzalez (Cuba) and Elizabeth Armitstead (Great Britain). She is the best italian pistard, and one of the best european pistards.

Sara Hammer (USA): She is a distinguish pistard, two times world Champion, in Burdeos (france) and Palma de Mallorca (Spain).

Nancy Contreras (Mexico): She is the most important rider of Méxica. She was first mexican women cyclist World Champion, in 500 meters time trial in 2001, and two times silver medal (2002 and 2003)..

Cuba, great protagonist

Cuba arrives this week to Cali, with hope that they could win many medals in Cali.

Island delegation is directed by Leonel Alvarez, and it is integrated by Yumari Gonzalez, Lisandra Guerra, Arianna Herrera, Dalila Rodriguez and Alejandro Mainat.

Cuba won one gold medal, three silver medal and two bronze medal last year in Cali, with great performance of female team with Gonzalez, Rodriguez and Dominguez.

Mexico, 40th country confirmed

Gabriel Espinoza, Technical Director of Mexican Cycling Federation, registered mexican team to third stage of Track World Cup UCI Cali 2009.

They are 40th nation at confirm they participation in World Cup.

This is riders list:

Cesar Vaquera, Carlos Manuel Hernández, Carlos Carrasco, Mario Contreras, Nancy Contreras, Jenny Ríos y Jessica Fernanda Jurado.    

The techincal staff is integrated by Jaume Mas (Chief Trainer), Alberto Miranda (Trainer), Sergio Arias (Mechanic) and Anthony Cooper (Masseur).
